In this work, there are 6 distinctive types of birds, all representing love in Chinese traditions. Additionally, this piece includes Camellia, which is one of the ten most popular flowers in the Chinese tradition. The flower represents humbleness, deposited virtue and ideal love. The butterflies in this work symbolise beauty and also represent eternity, and being in pair symbolises love. The female figure in the centre of the work symbolises the feminine ability to love. At the back of the portrait is the deer, which is a representation of love and a symbol for mutual consideration, respect and common happiness between intimate lovers. The background of the piece is stimulated by “Wonderland,” which is a representation of a fairyland that never fades. This is what gives the artwork life and immortality. Therefore, the entire piece of art is filled with souls and symbols of love.
